What a range of recipes! I’m so excited to have more easy dessert options for guilty indulgences and dinner parties! Thanks Rebecca!
The recipes also allow for other diets/allergies/restrictions (GF/DF/Egg free etc.), which makes dinner party planning easy!
The ice-cream & semifreddo and ice-cream sandwiches section are my favourites! Regardless, all sections are great… there is a flavour to suit everybody’s taste buds! And if you have the freezer space, meal prep is your friend!
I especially liked the choc hazelnut ice-cream, and am looking forward to more popsicle options in summer.
And… I love that these recipes add to your fruit intake for the day! ;-)

Hi Kristy, thanks so much for the feedback and I’m thrilled the ice creams, semifreddos and ice cream sandwiches are your favourites. My very first job was in an ice cream parlour so I knew I always wanted to create a SIBO cookbook dedicated to ice creams and frozen treats given I spent 3.5 years scooping ice cream in my teens. I hope your guests enjoy these desserts next time you make them for them.
      Kind regards
      Rebecca

Another fantastic recipe book. This could not be more timely as I have chronic SIBO and my son now has it too and is missing out on a lot of his summer treats. This is great collection if you have a sweet tooth and have SIBO or any other digestive issue where you need to be careful what you’re consuming. I highly recommend this!

Thanks for the lovely words Barb and I am so happy my recipes are able to help not only you, but your son as well!

      Hi Jamie
I’m so glad you enjoy the recipes, and yes, they are a great family activity! My 3 year old daughter has really loved watching us turn liquid into magical ice cream, and it’s nice for me to know that I’m giving her a healthy treat.
      Kind regards

I am thinking that these recipes will appeal to a lot of people who don’t necessarily have SIBO, but have dairy/egg/sugar restrictions. As for my SIBO self, these frozen dessert recipes will rescue me from temptation around the ice cream aisle, knowing I would lose the whole next day to symptoms. That’s worth something! Will probably stick to the ice cream recipes–boy, I am looking forward to blueberry, caramel pecan, chocolate chip, lemon curd, coffee (which I have not had for decades!), lemon curd, strawberry–all in my category, which is CALM (for now). Life is worth living again! (Who doesn’t like ice cream?) So while I’m paying attention to some scrumptious desserts, I can check some of the free SIBO recipes, the SIBO cooking show, and the Healthy Gut Podcast. I do thank Rebecca for the work she put into bringing us something to look forward to at the end of what can be rest restricted meals! If I understand it correctly, we are programmed from babyhood to expect a richer something at the end of our nutritional intake–so here’s how we do that and not suffer.

Thanks for the kind words Hannah and I’m glad I am able to give you plenty of delicious icy treats that are also SIBO friendly for you to enjoy.

This is a very organized recipe book, the pictures are great and is very easy to read and understand. The recipes are categorized by the different SIBO diets such as Bi-phasic, specific food guide, Low FODMAP, low fermentation, egg, gluten and dairy free. The recipes are ok for people in all stages of SEBO like the early, symptomatic and reintroduction stages. The recipes I liked the best are the sorbet and popsicles ones because they are easy to make , seem yummy and you don’t need any special tools to make them. I thought the ice cream combinations sound delicious as well, but you need an ice cream machine for those and the author gives you some options of which machines you can buy, but these machines are expensive and bulky. I will definitely stick to the popsicles and sorbets; I also have gastritis so some of those recipes would not be good for me because they have very acidic fruits. FYI if you are watching calories , carbs, fats or counting macros these recipes do not have any of that information. I really like this book overall, although I can only use it for some of the recipes, but if you don’t have issues with acidic foods or need to count macros and you have an ice cream machine then you will be able to make all the recipes without a doubt.

      Hi Carolina
Thanks for your review and feedback on the book! With regard to the ice cream recipes, I do include instructions in the book on how you can manually churn your own ice cream in a freezer-safe container, so you don’t actually need any equipment to make these recipes. However, as you will have seen in the book, I do recommend investing in an ice cream maker if you really love ice cream as it does yield better results and a creamier texture.
I purposely don’t include calories/kJ information in my books as there is already enough disordered eating within the SIBO community so I don’t want to add to it, however all of my recipes can be imported into a free tool like MyFitnessPal which will calculate calories/kJ and macros if required.
